BREAKING: Edo Assembly Speaker Tests Positive For Coronavirus

The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Frank Okiye has tested positive to the novel Coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19.

This was disclosed on Wednesday by the state Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu while briefing newsmen.

According to Shaibu, the government has started taking measures to prevent a further spread of the disease in the state.

Governor Godwin Obaseki, was said to have on Wednesday gone into self – isolation following his reported contact with Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed and President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, who have both tested positive for the virus.

Obaseki’s Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, noted that the governor has sent his samples for testing.
