BREAKING: Gunshots In Abuja As Police Disperse Over 100 Motorcycle Riders At Kubwa Outpost

Over 100 motorcycle riders popularly called ‘okada riders’ have invaded a police outpost at the Byazhin axis of Kubwa, Abuja, on Thursday.

The okada riders stationed outside the Byazhin police outpost have set fire in the middle of the road to block free movement from the Kubwa train station down to the police outpost.

The rioters are demanding the release of a suspect who allegedly stole a motorcycle and ran into the police outpost after being identified by one of the motorcyclists.

THE WHISTLER spoke to one of the okada riders who said they were picketing the police outpost to have the suspect released so they can burn him alive.

“The man snatched an okada from one us,” he said, adding that, “That is how they have been snatching our bikes and killing our members.”

The police are presently shooting into the air to disperse the protesters gathered outside the outpost.
