BREAKING: Nigeria Records Second Coronavirus Death

Nigeria has recorded its second death from the dreaded Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. 

The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, confirmed this on Monday at a press briefing in Abuja.

“Till date, three persons have been discharged after successful treatment,” Ehanire said.

“But sadly, another fatality was recorded over the weekend in the person of a patient who had severe underlying illnesses,” he said.

The country had confirmed its first COVID-19 death after a 67-year-old male who returned from the United Kingdom with underlying health conditions died from the virus.

According to figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday, the country has recorded a total of 111 cases in 12 states.
