BREAKING: UNILAG Senate Elects Professor Folasade Ogunsola Acting Vice Chancellor

The Senate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has elected Professor Folasade Ogunsola as the university’s new acting Vice Chancellor.

Ogunsola was the deputy vice-chancellor in charge of development services of the institution.

The votes (135) on Monday went in her favour, while Professor Ben Oghojafor polled 31 votes.

Ogunsola is said to be the first female to occupy the position in the university’s history.

Recall that the Federal Government had directed the Senate to chose an acting VC for the institution.

Also, the Governing Council headed by Wale Babalakin and the embattled VC Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, were told by government to step aside pending Investigation by its Visitation panel, into the school’s management rift.
