BREAKING: Youths Break Into Govt Warehouse In Osun, Loot Food Items

Youths in Ede town, Osun State, have broken into the COVID-19 palliatives warehouse located in the town.

The residents carted away food items after breaking into the store while jubilation.

The state government had earlier lifted the curfew imposed on the state Friday morning.

Asimilar incident had taken place in Lagos where some persons also broke into the warehouse where CoVID -19 palliatives were stored and carted away food items and other things on Thursday.

Our correspondent gathered that the incident in Ede started on Friday morning and the looting spree continued for hours as residents took as much as they could carry away from the warehouse.

The materials kept in warehouse at the Cocoa Processing Company were said to have been stored there by the state government and as at the time of filing the report, the place was said to have been emptied.

Some of the looters could be heard raining abuses on the state government as they carted away the food items including rice, beans, gari, noodles, salt, sugar and condiments .

The lawmaker representing Ede North Constituency at the Osun State House of Assembly, Kofoworola Babajide, confirmed the incident to journalists.
