Buhari @ 78: Is First Lady ‘Mad’ At Husband? She Didn’t Wish Him Happy Birthday

President Muhammadu Buhari turned 78 on Thursday, but surprisingly his wife, Aisha, has yet to send him a birthday message.

While some prominent Nigerians, including Senate President Ahmad Lawan and former Speaker Yakubu Dogara, had taken to social media to wish Buhari a happy birthday, silence was the case across Mrs. Buhari’s social media pages.

This has fueled speculation that all may not be well between the President and the First Lady.

An online newspaper, not THE WHISTLER, recently reported that Mrs. Buhari had allegedly relocated to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, after a shooting incident that occurred between her aide-de-camp and one of the president’s aides.

Meanwhile, checks by this website showed that Aisha had sent a birthday message to President Buhari on twitter when he celebrated his 77th birthday.

THE WHISTLER reported how the First Lady’s cryptic message to Buhari on his 77th birthday sparked reactions from Nigerians.

The First Lady had addressed Buhari by his last military rank (Major General), instead of his official title as a democratically-elected president.

She had tweeted, “Happy Birthday to MY incorruptible GMB (General Muhammadu Buhari). I wish you Allah’s Guidance Protection and Good Health to continue steering the affairs of our dear nation. Long Live GMB. Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria!”

President Buhari is currently holidaying in his Daura hometown in Katsina State. He is expected to return to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after his birthday.
