NFVCB, an agency under the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, is the regulatory body set up by Act No.85 of 1993, to regulate films and video industry in Nigeria.

The Executive Director of NFVCB, Adedayo Thomas, who led the delegation, stressed that movies or videos must align with laid down rules that govern the society and not contradict it, thereby aiding moral decadence.

According to him, it is the board’s “responsibility to regulate the film industry in Nigeria; to censor films and video works; to regulate the importation and exportation of movies amidst other functions.

Furthermore, the NFVCB weaves its philosophy around protecting the Nigerian children and young persons from harm as well as prevent access (by children) to materials which are offensive while also promoting the exercise of parental responsibility, among other things.

The occasion took place at the federal secretariat complex, Benin and was attended by representatives of the police, Nigeria  Security and Civil Defense Corps [NSCDC], Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement  Agency, Federal  Fire Service, and others, according to a statement from the Information ministry.
