Trump accused WHO of doing a cover up for China, adding that it failed to call out China’s lack of transparency about Covid-19 which is now a global pandemic.

“President Donald Trump is halting funding of the World Health Organization while a review is conducted to assess WHO’s role in mismanaging the Coronavirus outbreak,” the White House stated.

But Gates said that taking such decision against a global health agency was dangerous, adding that if not for WHO’s directive, the Coronavirus pandemic would have been uncontrollable.

He also added that no health organization could match WHO in terms of competence, stressing that their work should not be stopped because of lack of funds.
