Coronavirus: China Constructs 1,000-Bed Hospital In 48 Hours

Following the outbreak of coronavirus, Chinese construction workers have fully completed a new 1000-bed hospital close to Wuhan in two days.

Metro UK reports that more than 500 construction workers, electricians and policemen worked around the clock to open the hospital in the Huangzhou District.

The construction did not start from scratch; what they did was to convert an empty building to a full-fledged hospital; and they have begun receiving patients.

Meanwhile, the virus has infected more than 1000 people in China and the death toll has risen to over 106, causing many countries to evacuate their citizens from the area.

Furthermore, four hospitals are also reportedly being constructed using prefabricated buildings and is expected to be completely as soon as possible; like a medical centre that was built in Beijing within 7 days in 2003 to address the menace of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

A prefabricated building are buildings constructed with factory-made components or units that are transported and assembled on-site.
