Coronavirus: Pope Asks Governments To Decongest Prisons

The Pope of the Catholic Church Worldwide has asked governments all over the world to decongest their prisons to prevent any outbreak of the Coronavirus.

He gave this advice in a tweet on Monday.

He said that if nothing was done to reduce overcrowding in prisons, it may lead to greater tragedies for countries.

He also urged his followers to pray for authorities around the world, so they could come up with better ways to handle prisoners ,in the light of Coronavirus pandemic.

Recall they the World Health Organization (WHO) had urged that complying with its public health advisory on covid-19 was key to keeping its spread at a minimal level.

In those prisons that are overcrowded, there is the danger that this pandemic will end up as a grave tragedy. Let us #PrayTogether for those responsible, for those who must make decisions, so that they might find a correct and creative way to resolve this problem.
