Court Orders EFCC To Immediately Release Jonathan’s Cousin
An Abuja High Court sitting, on Thursday, ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to release Mr. Azibaola Robert, cousin of former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, from their custody with immediate effect.
Robert, who was arrested by the anti-graft agency following his alleged involvement in the illegal diversion of a sum of $40 million that was meant for the security of oil pipelines, has been in detention since March 23.
The money was allegedly diverted through a firm, One-Plus Holdings and the payment was said to have been made by the detained former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd).

Robert, who was dissatisfied with his prolonged detention without trial, had through his lawyer, Chief Chris Uche (SAN), approached the High Court for enforcement of his fundamental human rights.
