Covid-19: 16 New Cases In Kaduna Are Almajiris From Kano – Gov Nasir Elrufai

The Governor of Kaduna State,Nasir Elrufai,has said that the 16 new Covid-19 cases in the state were all almajiris from Kano.

According to him, that raises the number of active Covid-19 cases in Kaduna State from nine to 25.

Some states in the North have been deporting Almajiris back to their home states to curb spread of Coronavirus.

In a tweet on Thursday, he said that was the reason his administration had to plan restriction of entry or exit from the state.

“The high number of positive results from persons with travel history from outside the state confirm the Kaduna State Government’s fears about the danger of infection from neighbouring states and the role of interstate travel in facilitating the spread of Covid-19 across states,” he tweeted.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) had announced 17 new infections in Kaduna state,but the governor said that NCDC repeated a test from an existing patient.

“Their attention has been drawn to it and it will be remedied,” he tweeted.
