COVID-19: Lagos, Ebonyi Lead As Nigeria Records 544 Fresh Cases

Nigeria has recorded 544 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, as total infections from the virus reached 28, 711. 

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its official twitter handle on Sunday night.

The NCDC said as of July 5, the country had discharged a total of 11,665 patients while total deaths from the virus stood at 645.

According to the agency, no new state reported a case in the last 24 hours.

The NCDC stated that the 544 new cases were reported from 19 states, namely Lagos-199, Ebonyi-65, Oyo-47, Ondo-46, Ogun-31, Edo-30, FCT-28, Katsina-25, Plateau-15, Bayelsa-11, Kaduna-10, Adamawa-10, Akwa Ibom-8, Gombe-7, Kano-4, Taraba-3, Rivers-2, Abia-2, Ekiti-1

The federal  government has continued to advise citizens to take the COVID-19 prevention seriously to avoid contracting the virus or spreading it to others.
