COVID-19: Oil Industry Donations To Hit N31bn, Says Kyari

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, has said that the oil industry has agreed to donate N31 billion to fight coronavirus.

So far, the oil industry, led by the NNPC, has donated N21billion.

He disclosed this on Monday while speaking on AIT MoneyLineWith Nancy, on the issues of COVID-19 funds.

The NNPC GMD said, “In terms of what they can do, the oil industry has agreed to donate N31 billion.”

He said the funds would be used to provide medical facilities including isolation centres, face masks and permanent medical facilities.

Kyari added that procurement would be handled by the individual firms, adding that some of the equipment would be procured locally.

He added that the most pressing issue was the health concern raised by the outbreak.
