COVID-19: We Have Sanctioned Businesses Flouting Guidelines To Protect Public – PTF

The Presidential Taskforce (PTF) on COVID-19, says some businesses which flouted the COVID-19 guidelines have been sanctioned.

National Coordinator, Sani Aliyu, disclosed this at the ongoing taskforce briefing in Abuja.

Recall that a mall in the FCT was recently shut down for flouting the PTF guidelines, when it released its premises for a musical concert with large crowd.

He did not however, disclose the name of any of such businesses.

According to Aliyu, “the fact that we are getting many reports on the flouting of the COVID-19 guidelines is a call for concern.”

He also revealed that the taskforce is working with security agencies to ensure that enforcement is carried out to organisations that flout the guidelines.

“We are working with security agencies to put in place enforcement when it comes to organisations that flout the guidelines.”

The PTF Coordinator also vowed that “We would not sit back and allow public safety to be endangered by a few people.”
