Dino Melaye’s Constituency Projects ‘Set Ablaze’ Before Commissioning

Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye’s constituency projects in Kogi State have reportedly been set ablaze by suspected criminals before the projects commissioning slated for today, Wednesday.

Senator Melaye is said to have completed two projects in Lokoja the State capital and was on his way to commission them when he was informed that the criminals had set one of the projects ablaze while the other was vandalized on the day of the inauguration.

According to PUNCH, the projects are the Government Girls Secondary School, Sarkin-Noma and the LGEA Primary School, Lokogoma, both situated in the state capital.

The newspaper quoted an SS3 student of one of the schools affected, Marian Suleman, as saying “We have been waiting for the inauguration scheduled for today (Wednesday), only to discover this.”

It could not be immediately ascertained who the suspected arsonists are or who may have assigned them the job.

But Senator Melaye and the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, have been at odds for some time now.
