The Federal Road Safety Corps has denied increasing the cost of driving licence in the country.

Corps Marshal/Chief Executive Officer, FRSC, Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, who gave the assurances while speaking at a workshop in Lagos, noted that no driver should pay more than N6, 350 in obtaining any licence whose expiry period is three years.

The FRSC boss quickly asserted that the Corps had earlier in the year, issued a five-year duration with a cost of N10, 350 to give motorists a new option.

“We have not increased the cost of processing the driving licence. It remains N6,350. What we have done is to give people the option of taking either for three years or five years. The five-year driving licence is available at N10,350,” he said.

He further warned motorists against driving with a fake driving licence as he described it as a serious offence.

Oyeyemi blamed the high accident rate in the country to speed limit violators, stressing that he had directed his officers to clamp down on offenders.
