She said, “All our properties are fully insured, so we had to call on our insurers. For the buildings, the part  which was touched, we are doing integrity test to determine the level of repairs that are needed.

“Our vehicles are also fully insured, so we are going through the process of reclaiming our insurance and to that extent, so our personnel that sit in the place that was burnt were placed in one of the buildings on Marina so that they can work there pending when the building is rehabilitated.”

The NPA boss said computers, printers and photocopiers belonging to the agency were looted, adding that the agency had started the procedures for insurance claims on the assets.

Usman admitted the protest complicated the NPA operations which was largely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The protest which had been peaceful was however hijacked following the shooting of protesters at Lekki Tollgate which led to deaths and injuries in various parts of the country.

The headquarters of the NPA in Marina, Lagos State, was set on fire by hoodlums on October 21, over the shooting of unarmed protesters.

The shooting further led to violence across the country, while properties worth billions where lost.
