Fani-Kayode Mocks Omisore After Being ‘Schemed Out’ Of APC Senatorial Ticket

- Calls Omisore 'My Former Cousin'

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has taken a swipe at former Osun state governorship aspirant of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Iyiola Omisore, alleging that he was schemed out of Ife East senatorial ticket by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Omisore, it would be recalled, had chosen the candidate of the APC over that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Osun governorship rerun election.

It is believed that it was Omisore’s support for Mr Isiaka Oyetola that helped the APC governorship candidate defeat Senator Ademola Adeleke of the PDP in the state’s rerun election.

Fani-Kayode, who had earlier expressed confidence that Omisore would support the PDP candidate, however expressed disappointment that the SDP candidate threw his weight behind Oyetola leading to the defeat of the PDP in the poll.

The former minister, who referred to Omisore as his “former cousin”, is alleging that it was due to APC’s promise to give him automatic senatorial ticket for Ife East constituency that the former SDP governorship candidate supported the ruling party’s candidate in the Osun poll.

Fani-Kayode said in Facebook post: “So my former cousin Iyiola Omisore did not get the Senatorial ticket for Ife East from the APC after the dirty job he did? The only thing he got from them was his passport. Someone just got served. It never pays to sell your soul to the devil. His infamy and treachery is legendry.”
