Fidelity Bank Extends Tenure Of GMD Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe To 2026

Fidelity Bank Plc has extended the tenure of its Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe to 2026, the lender has said.

Fidelity Bank said the decision was taken by the company’s board in a meeting held on February 12, 2024.

Onyeali-Ikpe assumed office as MD/CEO of Fidelity Bank on January 1, 2021, and led the company to profitability.

Under the CEO, Fidelity Bank announced the completion of the acquisition of a 100 per cent stake in Union Bank UK.

The lender said, “The extension is in furtherance of the Bank’s strategic objectives and premised on Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe’s sterling performance since assumption of o¬ffice on January 1, 2021.

“The Board is confident that the Bank’s performance will continue its upward trajectory under Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe’s leadership and looks forward to working closely with her and the Executive Management Team on execution of various strategic initiatives including international expansion.”

In the full year of 2023, the bank reported a gross earning of N553.8bn, up from the N337.1bn recorded the previous year.

As of February 14, 2023 the bank’s share price fell from N11.4 traded on February 13 to N10.3 per share. The company’s market capitalisation also fell to N329.7bn.
