Freed Chibok Girls To Meet Parents‎ Friday

The 82 Chibok schoolgirls who were released few days ago by the Boko Haram terrorists, will on Friday in Abuja, reunite with their parents.

The Chairman, Chibok Community in Abuja, Hosea Tsambido, who revealed this said that the Federal Government have sent invitations to the parents.

It was learnt that the decision was taken after some representatives of the Chibok community, who met with the Federal Government last week, were given photographs of the girls for identification.

“Many of the parents have identified their children through the photos and I was told that they are coming on Friday,” Tsambido said.

When asked who will bear the cost of the trip of the girls’ parents, Tsambido said, “I don’t know. What the parents told me was that they were asked to come on Friday.

“I didn’t ask if the government would sponsor the trip but usually, the government sponsors such trips.”

Confirming the planned reunion, one of the guardians of the rescued girls, Yahi Dwata said, “It is true. I have received word from parents in Chibok that the government asked them to come on Friday. I will also be in Abuja on Friday.”
