‘Garba Shehu Can Win Olympic Gold For Lying’

The war of words between the media aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, and Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, reached a new height on Friday when the former called the latter a liar.

The former presidential aide was reacting to a statement by Shehu, claiming the Buhari government has exceeded its campaign promises to Nigerians.

“Government cannot create all the jobs obviously but it is providing the enabling environment for the private sector and everyone else to create jobs. The Rice Farmers Association has credited this administration for the creation of 6 million new jobs in the area of agriculture.

“That is enormous. In the constructive industry, so much money is being spent and they are rehiring staff that were formerly laid off. If you add all these numbers, the APC administration under President Buhari would have exceeded the promises that it gave to Nigerians,” Shehu told state house correspondents.

But reacting to the comments, Omokri said the president’s spokesman would win an Olympic gold medal for lying.

Both men have been embroiled in a series of verbal abuse on the achievements of their principal.
