Greenfield Abduction: Parents Of Abducted Students Beg Buhari To Pay N100m Ransom

Parents of the abducted Greenfield University students have pleaded with the Federal Government to help pay the N100 ransom demanded by kidnappers to free their children.

The aggrieved families, led by Marcus Zarmai, on Friday in Kaduna sent messages across to President Muhammadu Buhari to use his office to facilitate the abductees’ return.

Speaking to the press, Zarmai said the parent had paid over N60 million ransom to the captors, expressing frustration over additional N100 million ransom being demanded by the kidnappers.

The Greenfield University, a private institution in the state, was attacked by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect on April 20, where they abducted no fewer than 20 persons.

The captors had reportedly killed five persons on different occasions and released one student two weeks ago after alleged payment of huge sum of money by a parent.

The captors had threatened to kill the students if the sum of N100 million was not paid to them.
