Gunmen Kill Cop, Abduct Four Chinese Railway Workers In Ogun

Four Chinese railway workers handling the Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge railway project have been reportedly kidnapped by some gunmen.

The armed hoodluns numbering eight were said to have swooped on the expatriates at Adeaga/Alaagba in the Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State on Wednesday.

Our crespohdent learnt that the AK-47 weilding criminals shot a policeman to death before seizing the four Chinese.

The sad incident was said to have led to the increase in police presence in the area as security agents patrolled with their vehicles blarring sirens and thereby causing panic among residents.

The corpse of the policeman allegedly shot dead by the hoodluns was said to have been taken to mortuary by policemen later deployed in the area.

Some residents of the communities said they were shocked by the incident.

They claimed that the hoodluns overpowered the security men and shot one dead and disarmed the others before taken the expatriates away into the forest.

One of the youths in Adeaga community, Azeez, said members of the Oodua People’s Congress and other vigilantes mobilised themselves and combed the forest for the victims and their abductors.

He, however, said they had not recorded success in their rescue operation as at the time of filing this report.
