But an officer of the NIS told journalists that Agbaegbe came to the NIS office with his friend to pick the friend’s passport when trouble started.

The officer who spoke on condition of anonimity said the council chairman was asked to move away from where he stood but he refused and that was the cause of the crisis.

He said that one of the chairman’s aides went and told hoodlums that they had beaten his boss at NIS office and the hoodlums allegedly unleashed terror on everybody on site.

He said they also deflated tyres of vehicles parked on the premises and left the place when men of operation Burst arrived the scene.
