‘Inveterate Liar’, Omokri Blasts Garba Shehu After Buhari Contradicts Aide

Media aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has described Presidential Spokesman, Garba Shehu, as an “inveterate liar” that can do anything to save his job.

Omokri’s latest attack on the president’s spokesman comes hours after President Muhammadu Buhari contradicted Shehu’s statement on his long distance trek on Salah day.

Speaking when he received some socio-political groups at his private residence in Daura, Katsina state, on Friday, President Buhari said his walk was to show respect to thousands of people who wanted to greet him.

“Let me react to some media reports about my trekking on Sallah day insinuating that I trekked to demonstrate my fitness for 2019 presidential election,” Buhari said yesterday.

‘‘They were not seeing me so I came down so they could see me. I didn’t need to convince anyone about my health and the decision to contest for a second term- a decision that I made public in April this year.

“After the prayer, I noticed that many people wanted to see and I was in a black vehicle and security men were blocking them from seeing me.

“So, I opted to trek in spite the security implications because I knew nothing would happen to me by the grace of Allah.”

But Shehu had earlier stated that the President’s walk was to show his fitness to seek another term in office.

Shehu’s remarks sparked widespread condemnation from Nigerians, with many advising the President to work not walk.

But following Buhari’s latest remark on the much-heated argument, Omokri trolled Shehu, saying “even your boss knows you”.
