JAMB Suspends NIN Registration For 2020 UTME, DE

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended the use of National Identification Number (NIN) as criteria to sit for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry(DE) Examination.

JAMB’s registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this in Abuja on Saturday.

He said that certain technical challenges associated with the ongoing registration called for its suspension and shift.

Recall that there has been widespread criticism of the NIN process..

He also said that the move was for candidates to have adequate time to get their national identity number.

He urged candidates to only comply with other procedures for the registration; adding that NIN would be considered by 2021 UTME.
