JUST IN: FBI Investigates Washington DC Violence

Following the attack on the United States Congress on Wednesday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), on Thursday notified the public that it needed assistance to apprehend those that unleashed the violence.

In a press release published on its website, the domestic intelligence and security agency of the country stressed that while protest is a constitutional right, the law does not condone criminal behavior.

“The FBI is seeking information that will assist in identifying individuals who are actively instigating violence in Washington, DC. The FBI is accepting tips and digital media depicting rioting and violence in the U.S. Capitol Building and surrounding area in Washington, DC, on January 6, 2021.

“Our goal is to preserve the public’s constitutional right to protest by protecting everyone from violence and other criminal activity,” it stated.

Meanwhile, some Twitter users expressed shock at the FBI announcement.

They accused the security forces of allowing rioters carry out their plans and walking away.

THE WHISTLER earlier reported that the protests turned violent after President Donald Trump had urged his supporters to be “bold” and protest the allegedly rigged November 3 presidential election.

But after the congress had certified Joe Biden as the next president, Trump conceded defeat.
