According to him, the directive was due to consultations with Islamic scholars and other government officials at the Government House.

He added that while the lockdown in the state continued, it would be relaxed on Mondays and Thursdays.

“This means that the relaxation of the lockdown on the days of Monday and Thursday will continue, but Friday prayers will also be allowed as well as Eid Prayers,” he said.

Furthermore, the government urged Islamic clerics to ensure that the public health advisory on covid-19 was fully complied with.
