JUST IN: Magu Writes IGP, Seeks Bail

Suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has asked the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to grant him bail.

One of Magu’s counsels, issued the letter on Friday.

Punch reports that Magu, who has been in detention since his arrest on Monday, requested to be granted bail through a letter sent on his behalf by one of his lawyers, Oluwatosin Ojaomo.

In the letter, Magu urged the IGP to grant him bail based “on self-recognisance”, according to punch

The suspension of the former EFCC boss was confirmed today by the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation.

Among other things, Magu is being probed by a Presidential panel, regarding his conduct as the head of the anti-graft agency.
