Justice Okon Abang gave the ruling on Friday , nearly 24 hours after he directed the prosecution and the defense counsels to submit the authorities they cited in their arguments for and against the bail application.

THE WHISTLER earlier reported that the Court had on November 23, ordered the remand of Senator Ali Ndume (Borno South), for breaching bail terms regarding the embattled former chairman of the Pension Reformed Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina.

Ndume had accepted to stand as Maina’s surety in the money laundering charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In his ruling on Friday, Ndume was asked to produce one surety.

The judge added that such person must reside and own a property in Abuja and must agree to the terms of suretyship which includes forfeiture.

Ndume’s lawyer had argued that since his client’s 500 million naira bail bond( which includes sale of his property) has been entered, it would not be fair for him to stiil be remanded.
