JUST IN: Private Jet Disappears From Radar, Crash-Lands At Ibadan Airport

A private jet crash-landed at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan, Oyo State earlier today after disappearing from radar while flying from Abuja to Lagos.

The Bombardier Challenger 601 jet with registration number N580KR departed Abuja at approximately 11:08 AM on Friday before losing communication and disappearing from radar screens in Ekiti State, according to THE WHISTLER findings.

The aircraft reappeared on radar as it approached Ibadan airport where it crash-landed, as seen on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.

The jet is owned and operated by TVPX Aircraft Solutions Inc. Trustee according to aviation records. It was carrying several unnamed Very Important Persons (VIPs) at the time of the incident.

Emergency response teams from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were said to have been dispatched to the runway where the private jet had crashed.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Aviation authorities have yet to determine why the aircraft disappeared from radar during the flight from Abuja or what led to the ultimate crash landing at Ibadan airport.
