Labour Party Chairman, Abure Released On Bail

The Nigeria Police Force has released the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, after his arrest in Edo State on Wednesday.

Abure, arrested by operatives of the Zone 5 Command, was reportedly released on bail.

In a short post via its official X Account handle, the Labour Party confirmed the release of its national leader.

“Our National Chairman, Barr. Julius Abure is released. In the struggle for our party and liberation of Nigeria from bad governance and police brutality, we shall overcome,” the post said.

The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force Zone 5 Command, Edo State, Tijani Momoh disclosed that Abure was arrested following a written petition endorsed by the office of the AIG, Zone 5 Benin from the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The petition accused Abure and three others of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit dangerous harm.

Upon his release, Abure pointed fingers at the opposition party whom he alluded had an agenda to stop the Labour Party from producing the next governor in Edo State.
