Lagos State To Increase Health Workers’ Salaries

The Lagos State government has said it will increase the salaries of health workers in the state.

The state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, made this announcement on Monday during a press briefing.

The promised increase is part of the state’s show of appreciation to the frontline workers for their sacrifices and professionalism in fighting coronavirus in the state.

“We are increasing the salaries of all health workers in Lagos,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu also said that as part of the measures to protect residents against COVID-19, the state would enforce compulsory wearing of face masks as from next week.

He said about a million locally-made face masks, that were contracted to tailors, would be distributed during the week.
