Leeds United Shock Chelsea To Move Out Of Relegation Zone

Leeds United recorded a stunning 3-1 win over Chelsea at Elland Road on Wednesday night to move out of the Premier League relegation zone.

The newly-promoted side produced an impressive performance to grab the maximum points at home as Enzo Maresca made five changes to the side that played out a 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Sunday.

Benoit Badiashile, Tosin Adarabioyo, Bryan Gittens, Andrey Santos, and Liam Delap started the encounter.

The hosts took the lead through Jaka Bijol with a glancing header in the seventh minute before Ao Tanaka made it 2-0 before halftime.

Substitute Pedro Neto reduced the deficit in the 50th minute but the visitors struggled to find their way back into the game before Leeds United wrapped up victory in the 72nd minute.

Tosin Adarabioyo’s mistake allowed Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin a tap-in to restore his side’s two-goal lead.

It was a disappointing performance from Chelsea as they struggled to get going in the encounter.

The Blues slipped to fourth on the Premier League log while the victory moved Leeds United to 17th.

In the other Premier League matches, Aston Villa recorded a 4-3 win over Brighton, Arsenal defeated Brentford 2-0, Nottingham Forest earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over Wolves, and Crystal Palace pipped Burnley 1-0.

Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw against Sunderland at Anfield.
