LMC Approves Kwara United Acquisition Of Delta Force FC

The League Management Company (LMC) has granted temporary approval to Kwara United for the takeover of Delta Force FC.

The provisional approval was made on Thursday after due consultation by the management of the two entities.

The two teams had written separate letters to LMC informing them of the acquisition, in response the body provisionally approved the takeover, however it specified conditions to seal the move.

The LMC specified in their condition that a letter of undertaking from the owners of Kwara United FC to pay the salaries of players and officials as well as other operational expenses of the club as at when due.

Also, the condition provides that a sworn declaration by Kwara United FC to comply with all the rules and regulations applicable to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and statutes of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The clubs are required to write a letter of undertaking from Kwara United FC to respect the existing contracts of all players whose services are transferred from Delta Force to Kwara United.

 The LMC further notified the club of costs payable for change of name and for the change of NPFL branding materials which shall be paid on fulfilment of the stated requirements.

Similarly, LMC also approved that Kwara United play their home games at the Ilorin Township Stadium starting from MatchDay 8 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2019/20 season according to details of the release.
