Maryam Sanda: Meet The Other Woman That ‘Pushed’ Her To Murder

Amina Bala Shagari quit her relationship with late Bilyaminu Bello so that he may have peace with his wife, but he was murdered instead by the woman who claimed to love him.

Amina, a granddaughter to a former Nigerian president, Shehu Shagari, is the woman whose relationship with Bilyaminu reportedly enraged Sanda and led her to murder her own husband for allegedly cheating on her.

In a Facebook post on November 23, 2017, Amina lamented how Sanda murdered Bilyaminu barely few days to his 36th birthday.

The deceased’s alleged mistress also regretted that despite quitting her love relationship with Bilyaminu to allow him enjoy peace with Sanda, the latter ended up killing him out of “jealousy”.

Amino wrote, “im sorry we drifted apart i wanted you to have peace .i was so proud of myself for letting her have you to herself. ashe ashe .it wouldn’t even come close to being enough .my darling friend .in different points of my life you were everything. A brother who pulled my scarf when i did wrong .a friend who knew me best .

“We decided to get married out of pure friendship .how strong was that bond .and when we couldn’t we still found our way back to being friends.my darling.i dont have enough words .you once asked “what would u do if i die?” I promptly started crying and abused u for suggesting u would die and id be around.those tears shocked u.

She added, “Even when we fought u held on .even if we didnt talk u held on. it was funny, it was special cos it was not the hand but the wrist ,as if to assure urself you wouldn’t let go .that was who [you] were .till i suggested i wanted ur jealous wife to have peace .i wouldnt call i said u would .and u did .whenever you could.and u saw me whenever u could. bye my love.”

Meanwhile, Sanda, after two years of allegedly stabbing her husband to death in their sitting room, was finally sentenced to death by hanging by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court on Monday.

Justice Yusuf Halilu found the mother of two guilty of killing her husband on November 19, 2017.

Justice Halilu found Sanda guilty of murder based on the principle of “last seen”, saying she was the only person with Bilyaminu when he died.

The judge dismissed the convict’s submission that her husband fell on a broken Shisha pot during a fight, describing it as a “smokescreen to deceive the court”.

The conviction of Sanda by death seemed to be receiving  positive feedbacks as some Nigerians took to social media on Monday described it as “justice at last” for late Bilyaminu.
