Middle East: U.S. Oil Giant Pulls Workers From Iraq As Tensions Rise

Tension in the aftermath of a U.S. drone strike that killed a top Iranian general in Baghdad has prompted one of United States oil giants, Chevron, to move all of its employees and contractors who are U.S. citizens from Kurdistan oil site in Iraq.

This comes a few days after Iran’s military leader, Esmail Qaani, asked the United States of America to withdraw its troops from the Middle-east region of Iran

According to the spokesperson of the international oil company this move is a precautionary measure, saying the safety of its people and facilities is a global priority.

President Donald Trump had earlier said that Qassam Soleimani’s was killed to prevent war as he received intelligence Soleimani’s was plotting attacks on Americans.
