Naira Marley Wants To Be Like Me Says Terry G

Nigerian Musician Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has reacted to the controversy over whose music , between he and Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, has had more impact on Nigerian youths.

This is coming after fans on twitter tried to compare the musical careers of the two pop stars.

Some argue that Naira Marley is not only the most talked about Nigerian singer at the moment, but also the only artiste that has an army of youths in the name of ‘Marlians’,

Others feel that his exploits and influence are below what Terry G accomplished during the ‘Free Madness’ era.

However, reacting to the conversation in a chat with Vanguard on Tuesday, the ‘Free Madness’ singer said he cannot be compared with Naira Marley because the latter is only trying to accomplish what he already achieved.

He said: “Naira Marley being compared with me is because he’s trying to archive my image based on who I am.

“That’s why anybody that acts crazy might be rated with Terry G. But talking about fellowship, it will not be my opinion because I don’t know how anybody feels. I am just doing my music”.
