Nasarawa Assembly Members Go Into Quarantine After Lawmaker Dies Of Coronavirus

Members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly  have gone into quarantine after the lawmaker representing Nasarawa Central, Adamu Suleiman Ibrahim, died of Coronavirus.

 Senior Special Adviser to the state governor, Ali Abare, hinted that the members had gone into quarantine, while announcing Ibrahim’s death in a statement on Sunday.

He said, “Suleiman Ibrahim fell victim to the rampaging coronavirus pandemic.”

However, a source who spoke to THE WHISTLER,disclosed that when Ibrahim took ill, he was rushed  to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC , Keffi, but did not disclose his travel history.

The source said, “The first place they took him to was  the Accident and Emergency ward (A&E) .and Ibrahim started showing symptoms of the virus there.

“At that point, he was moved  to the isolation centre where he later  died.”

The source also said the hospital, while waiting for the result of the sample taken to Abuja for testing, released his corpse to the family for burial.

“We were told that it was the son that bathed the corpse before burial, according to Islamic rites. At the burial,  all members of the assembly were there and social-distancing was not observed”, the source stated.
