NBS Explains Delay In Publishing March Inflation Report

The Statistitian General of the Federation, Yemi Kale, has said that the country’s March inflation report  which was due to be published on Wednesday was delayed due to disruption in operations.

Kale made this known in a tweet on Monday while responding to Reuters Reporter, Tanishaa Nadkar, who demanded to know the date when the inflation report would be released.

According to him, “it would be delayed till next Monday…hopefully.”

Kale who is also the CEO of the National Bureau of Statistics added that the delay in publising the Consumer Price Index (CPI)  was due to “minor disruptions in our operations.”

The CPI measures Nigeria’s prices for most household purchases, especially its inflation and deflation components.
