Nigerian Doctor In ‘Treatment For Sex’ Scandal In UK, Faces Disciplinary Action

A Nigerian cosmetic surgeon, Oluwafemi ‘Tijion’ Esho, is facing disciplinary action in the United Kingdom following allegations of sexual misconduct with a ‘vulnerable’ patient in one of his clinics.

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) in Manchester heard how Esho allegedly engaged in sexual activity with the patient, a sex worker, following consultations for cosmetic procedures.

The patient reportedly sought treatment for a lip procedure offered at one of Dr. Esho’s clinics.

Esho, who has featured on television programmes like ITV’s This Morning, BBC’s Morning Live, and E4’s Body Fixers, was temporarily suspended from practice to enable the General Medical Council to conduct its investigation.

According to Chloe Hudson, representing the GMC, the patient began following Esho on social media after an appointment in July 2019.

Hudson further claimed that Esho had responded to the patient’s posts with “strongly suggestive and sexual content.”

The tribunal heard that Esho allegedly booked a private appointment at his Newcastle clinic, ensuring no one would disturb them.

Additionally, it was claimed that he offered the patient Botox treatment in exchange for sexual intercourse.

Botox, a drug prepared from botulin, is used medically to treat certain muscular conditions and cosmetic surgery treatment.

The patient, who filed the complaint with the GMC, believes Dr. Esho exploited her vulnerability.

While Dr. denies the allegations of sexual intercourse, he reportedly admitted to four of the ten charges against him.

The UK’s Dailly Mail reports that he admitted that between July 2019 and February 2022, he behaved inappropriately by exchanging messages with the patient.

He also admitted having an improper emotional relationship with her between July 2019 and May 2022, saying that his conduct concerning each allegation was “sexually motivated.’’

The tribunal is expected to continue for 15 days.
