Nigerian Youths Can’t Go To Farm, Herdsmen Will Kill Them, Omokri Blasts Buhari

A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has questioned President Muhammadu Buhari’s statement that Nigerian youths should “go to the farm, to earn respect for themselves”.

Buhari had made the call at a meeting with the Chief Executive Officers of six American agricultural companies and their Nigerian counterparts in Washington DC, his media aide had said.

“Our youths, the ones who have gone to school and even those that have not, should go to the farm, to earn respect for themselves.

“Agriculture is providing jobs for millions of our citizens and we are doing well towards the attainment of food security and jobs.

“The media may not appreciate the work we are doing but we will shock them by the success we are recording,’’ the statement had read.

But in a reaction via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, Omokri said youths are not farming because of laziness but of the fear of herdsmen attack.

He described Buhari as a clueless President for asking Nigerian youths to go and farm to earn his respect.

He wrote: “President Buhari asked Nigerian youths to go to the farm to earn his respect.

“When they go to farm and are killed by killer herdsmen, is it his condolence message they will earn? What a clueless President! Youths are not farming because of laziness. They are afraid of herdsmen!”.
