Nigerians React To Rumors Of Jimi Agbaje’s Defection From PDP
Nigerians have reacted to speculations that Jimi Agbaje, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Gubernatorial candidate in the just concluded election in Lagos State has defected from the party.
The rumours gained ground after a former Minister of Aviation and PDP chieftain, Femi Fani Kayode, tweeted that Agbaje had dumped the party.

Fani Kayode, in the tweet, lamented that Agbaje has followed the steps of his friends; Musiliu Obanikoro, Iyiola Omisore and Gbenga Daniel to leave the party.
“First it was Musiliu Obanikoro, then Iyiola Omisore, then Gbenga Daniel and now Jimi Agbaje. All my closest friends and brothers are abandoning ship and leaving @OfficialPDPNig! Ouch!” the tweet read.
While some Nigerians have criticized Agbaje’s alleged exit from the party, others have praised the move while some others have described the news as false.

Meanwhile, Agbaje who lost the state’s governorship election to the All Progressives Congress candidate, Babajide Sanwo Olu, has not officially announced any plan to defect from the PDP.
A statement he allegedly issued yesterday had read, “I have tried to remain focused and ignore all the distractions coming from the leadership of the party. I am making the decision after due consultations with my supporters and loved ones for the sake of peace.”
He is however, yet to affirm or debunk the claims which is making round on the social media.
Recall that barely two days ago, the Director General of the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Gbenga Daniel, announced his resignation from the PDP.
