Nigeria’s COVID-19 Infections Near 50,000 With 453 New Cases

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control has announced 453 fresh cases of the COVID-19 in the country.

The NCDC, Which made this known on its official twitter handle on Wednesday, said the country had discharged 334 new patients and recorded no new death.

The health agency said that the new cases were spread across 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the NCDC, the new cases bring the country’s total tally to 47,743.

It, however, added that out of the number, a total of 33,943 patients had been discharged while 956 had died.

The NCDC said that Lagos, the country’s COVID-19 epicentre, witnessed 113 new cases followed by the FCT with 72 cases, while Plateau and Enugu states recorded 59 and 55 cases, respectively.

It stated that Kaduna recorded 38 more cases, Ondo-32, Osun-26, Ebonyi-20, Ogun-9, Delta-8, Borno-7,Akwa Ibom-6, Oyo-5, Bauchi-1,Kano-1 and Ekiti-1.
