Nuhu Bamalli Poly Students Protest Insecurity, Other Challenges

Students of the Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria trooped out on Thursday to protest issues bordering on insecurity and absence of basic amenities in the school environment.

A student from the school, Aliyu Abubakar, disclosed the reason for the protest in a Facebook group “Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria Admissions Sesson 2018/2019 And Other Issue.”

He said the reason for the protest was that they’ve been facing security challenges in the school.

“Demonstrations is going on annex campus, Boys hostels; due to lack of security,” he stated.

Furthermore, pictures from the protest showed that they are also urging the school management to fix the issue of electricity and water.

The school came into being on the 2nd of February, 1989 wide Kaduna State Edict No. 3 (subsequently amended in 2004), and as such, it is owned by the state.

Our correspondent called the phone contact on the school’s website for comments, but it was not going through.
