In a statement issued from his office in Abuja on Wednesday, he told corps members to keep hope alive as the increase will be effected as soon as it is signed into law.

The minister also explained that the recently passed 2020 budget by the National Assembly made provision for increment in the monthly allowance due for NYSC corps members.

Dare said that the Nigerian youths  are pivotal in ensuring that positive development takes place in the nation, and as such, government is taking their issue seriously.

The statement also reads that “the Ministry has developed a programme called DY.NG- a two month program that corps members could run during service year, after which they will have some level of certification.”
