The chairman, Igueben local government council, Engr. Josie Ogedegbe, has been voted as the Best Local Government Council Chairman in Edo state by Papyrus Magazine at a ceremony in Abuja.

Ogedegbe was given the award by the magazine for the outstanding projects and programmes he has initiated for the people at the grassroots.

The publishers said Ogedegbe deserved to be given the award for ensuring the security of the lives of his people and for the numerous road and market projects since he was sworn into office as chairman this year.

Speaking on the award, the Onogie of Okalo, His Royal Highness Izebbhokha Egualona 1, said the award was well deserved owing to the number of projects in several communities in Igueben local government council.

“Our people are very happy with him because since he assumed office it has been one project after the other. You can come to Ebelle or Igueben and see for yourself. This chairman deserves the award and I know that those who gave him this award must have taken out time to see things for themselves,” the royal father said.

Egualona enjoined other local government chairmen in the state to see public office as public trust and to emulate Ogedegbe’s worthy example.
