One Killed, Four Wounded In Borno Bomb Attack

Borno State Police Command has confirmed one person dead in the suicide bombing attack that occurred early hours of today in Borno State.

In a statement the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edet Okon, said a male suicide bomber had detonated an Improvised explosive device (IED), strapped to his body in a shop along Baga Road in Maiduguri Metropolis, also killing himself in the process.

Four people were also injured during the incident including two soldiers and two civilian JTF members who were rushed to the hospital where they are reportedly responding to treatments.

Meanwhile, Mr Damian Chukwu, Borno Commissioner of Police, urged residents to be vigilant and report suspicious persons to the security agencies.
