Ortom’s Defection: ‘Aisha Buhari May Decamp From The Other Room,’ Presidency Mocked

In the wake of the tsunami of defection currently rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), former President Goodluck Jonathan’s media aide, Reno Omokri, has teasingly said President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha, may “decamp from the other room to the throne room”.

Omokri said this following the official defection of Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, from the ruling APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday.

Ortom’s defection comes barely 24 hours after about 48 lawmakers in both the lower and upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly dumped the ruling the party for several opposition parties yesterday.

Welcoming the Benue Governor to the PDP, Omokri said: “I congratulate Benue State Governor, Sam Ortom, for coming to his senses and leaving @OfficialAPCNg, the party of sorrow, tears & blood, for @OfficialPDPNig, the party of joy, laughter and prosperity. No Benue son should remain in a party that does nothing when herdsmen kill you.”

He added that, “Yesterday it was 16 Senators and 36 Representatives, today it is Governor San Ortom of Benue. At this rate, are we sure that Aisha Buhari will not decamp from the other room to the throne room? Everyone is coming to their senses. The body language has turned to body odour!”
